I love Gmail. I have used various web based email systems and it is by far my favorite. When they started using their “tab” system a while back I liked it until they put important emails in the promotion or social tab. It occurred to me our clients may be looking for our monthly e-alerts and they are going to the wrong tab! So if you want “re-categorize” an email you are receiving in Gmail here’s how!
- Click on the email you want to move to a different tab
- Second click on the “label” icon. It is the sixth label from the left above your email. Looks like an old fashioned price tag to me.
- If the email is currently going to a certain tab, like promotions, and you do not want it to, then “uncheck” that label. Now that email will go to your inbox.
- Subsequently, if you want an email to go to a certain tab, follow the same steps and click the tab box.
I figured if I was having this issue maybe other people were too. I hope this helped!
