Some of these mistakes seem to be “no brainer” mistakes, but they are fairly common and it’s great they were pointed out; sometimes people don’t realize they made the same mistakes! Interesting, as discussed in the article, many people work hard to create their estate plan, but then fail to execute the plan or revise the plan when needed. It seems once individuals get through the process, which can be a struggle in itself (many don’t want to think about what might happen when they pass away), the most difficult part is actually executing the document, thus, making it “final”. The signature is one of the most important signatures you will sign as it directs the distribution of your life savings according to your wishes.
